Moist Meatpie Filling


400g mince meat

2 medium sized Irish potato diced

2tbs plain flour

1 medium sized grated carrot

1 medium sized onion chopped


Scotch bonnet optional


Add a few drops of oil in the pan.

Sweat chopped onion on low heat to release flavour from onion.

Add diced Irish potatoes.

Add 1 tablespoon of seasoning then add mince meat, grated carrot and scotch bonnet.

Add 250ml of water we don't want a dry meat pie

Allow to cook on low heat for 5mins. Add quarter tsp salt and one maggi cube.

Stir to break up minced meat and combine mixture. Once mince is cooked further it will also release its own natural flavours.

Cover and allow to cook on medium heat for 10 to 15 mins or until potatoes are done.

Taste mince filling

Make a flour slurry using 2tbs of flour and 3tbs of water. Stir until well combined.

Allow filling to cool


Sweat your onion to release flavour.

Ensure mince filling is not dry.
